Tis the season.....

.....To be sick. Agh.... I hate being sick. I got this terrible cold like 2 days ago, and I thought to myself that it will be better by the time saturday comes around, and I will be able to do my last minute shopping. Well I am still at home and Scott is out doing my shopping. Which we all know that can be scary. I think I did way to much yesterday. I had to clean house, and help my sister-in-law. My sister-in-law bless her heart. She is having the big Christmas eve get together at her house, and that is ALOT of people. I think we counted it up and there will be something like 85 people that she has to feed, and clean up after. Not only that but she has my brother and his 6 kids and a K-9 duty dog staying at her house for the holidays. Then last night we all went to there house to visit with my brother and his family from Oregon, and my other brother, and 10 out of his 12 kids came over to visit as well. Oh man. I cant beleive sometimes how BIG my family is. That is not even half of it. I had to help my sister-in-law get two carts full at Costco to be able to feed all these people. She is such a good sport about it.

So yeah I am just glad it was not me.

Happy Holiday!!!!

The next Josh Groban

Coleton is going to be the next Josh Groban. We went to the wedding last night and we are sitting in the chapel and Coleton got out a Hymn book and he was just singing and singing and singing. We could not get him to be quiet. Oh well here is some of his singing. Hope you enjoy it.

I am getting old!!!

T
the bride and groom

So a week ago yesterday my neice told everyone she was getting married to a guy that she has been living with for about a year and half. We we all shocked, but comes to find out that he wants to be baptized, but he cant if he is living in fornication. So she had a wedding last night. It was really good considering the amount of time she had to throw it all together. We went to the bachlorett party on tuesday, and we had hot chocolate at my sisters house, and the we went to see Enchanted. Which by the way it an awsome movie. It is such a feel good movie.
These are some pictures from the wedding. I love living around family so that I dont have to miss out on these events. Living in Vegas we probly would have come down for it, but maybe not since it is so close to Christmas and we would be here anyway. Everything went well and I wish her the best in her future.

My new camera!!!

My mom I did this just to make her mad!!!
Coleton and his buddy James

Brylee and Ashlynn

So tonight we went to the zoo lights what fun! I was going to take pictures, but there was not really anything to take pictures of.

My Christmas!

So I have been telling Scott that I wanted a digital camera for Christmas. The one I have does not take very good pictures, and it's old, and I just don't particularly like the camera. Well Sears has been having a big sale on cameras so I told Scott about it. He told me that we could not afford it this year. So I agreed and told him not to get me anything, cause the only other thing I would want would be cloths, and i don't really want him picking them out. Considering how often I have to tell him that his cloths don't match. So I went online last night to balance my check book, and low and behold he had spent a fortune at sears. So I turned to him and said "Did you buy my camera?" His response was yes, and so he went and got it and gave it to me. So Merry Christmas to me. I love the camera. It is a 7MP and the pictures are GREAT. I will have to take some today, and post them so everyone can enjoy my Christmas with me.

Carriage ride, and snow!!!

Scott and Coleton on carriage ride

The family on carriage ride.

Ahhh

Ashlynn trying to slide down the snow slope

Coleton trying to get in on the snow ball fight

Ahhh

Coleton HATED the cold snow

So Saturday we did lots of fun things with the kids, and they had a great day. We woke up and cleaned house, had breakfest, had lunch, got ready, and then our day begun. We went to Westgate where the super bowl is going to be held this year, and played in the snow. By the way it was real snow from flagstaff. Walked around a bit. Then we went to grandma wilkins, and helped her put up her tree. We just made a bigger mess than really did anything, but we were able to visit a little. Then we went back to Westgate and went on a Horse drawn Carriage ride, and Ashlynn loved it. Coleton liked it to, but Ashlynn LOVED it. Then Scott and kids dropped me off with my sister and we went shopping until about 11pm. That is the best time to shop no one is out. Overall we had a good day.

Our Photo Shoot!!!

So I take the kids on a walk every afternoon that we can when its not raining. And they always do really cute things, and i think to my self "Oh i wish i had my camera" well today we went on a walk and i brought the camera. By the way i never take that stupid thing with me I always forget. So then i thought why dont we just take a bunch of pictures and then we can send out Christmas cards. I know a little late, better late than never. I did get some pictures of the kids, but i wish i had a better camera.

So we have been doing the whole potty training thing. I thought that it would be quick and she would just catch right on. No we have been working and working and working at it for a while now. She is doing really well. She will never tell me when she has to go, but today she did. That was a big step in her communication area.
This weekend we are doing alot of fun things. West gate in glendale is doing a big Christmas thing. So we are going to play in the fake snow(dont laugh) that is all we can get around here. Then we are going to take the free horse carriage ride with the kids. We have a ward party tonight. Not that excited about going, but it is something to do. Then we are going to go to the zoo lights. Not sure when what is happening, but we should have a fun filled Christmas weekend.
We have been busy getting together Christmas money. I have done some babysitting, and house cleaning to earn a dollar or two. I am going to start two new jobs here in the next couple of days. I am going to work from home doing some data entry for a company that needs someone to do that. I am also going to stock the greeting cards at the local stores around town. Scott is looking for another job, he has applied at the UofP, and maybe we can get some free education. He finished off his first semester with a 4.0 which is really wonderful. So over all we are doing great. We love learning about humility. It makes me such a better person. I love to put people before myself, I love helping my husband do the best he can. We are so grateful for what we have, and sometimes take it for granted. I am so thankful for the Lord and all that he blesses me with. Happy Holidays!!

Some things that are going on!!!!

Well first off I hope everyone is having a wonderful Holiday Season so far. Scott and I are doing okay. The kids are great except they fight all the time. Coleton is very feminine, and we need to get him playing with cars and balls. Which he has! He would just rather play with the combs and brushes, barbies, babies, Ashlynn's play shoes, strollers, etc. every once in a while we catch him playing with boy toys. Especially when his favorite cousin is over. I am sure he and his dad can have some bonding and get that boy thing figured out.

Ashlynn is three we took her in for a "special needs screening" and they see that she needs more extensive screening. She is not communicating the way she should at her age. I was informed that if they find she needs assistant that she would have to go to pre-school from 8-3 Mon-Fri. I am not ready for my little girl to start school yet so hopefully she wont need to much help. She has done allot better in the last little while, she is still having a hard time comprehending some things. But we are working with her some. They said that she is as smart as a 6 year old when it comes to some things she just cant communicate and carry on a conversation. Other than that she just turned three, and loves "Mary Poppins"(that was my favorite movie when i was little).

Scott and I are just trying to make it through the holiday's. Scott got laid off again, and they gave him his job back with a severe pay cut. So we are still on the job hunt. He is looking into being an interpreter at the hospital. It's not a ton of money but better than what he is doing. He is getting down on himself, but he understands its not him its the industry. It just sucks that we have to deal with it. So we are going to have a very humble holiday season. Which is fine. I have cried and been sad about it, but there is nothing i can do about it so we are just going to do what we can. Scott made a comment last night that is has been depressing coming back to Arizona because we made so much money in Vegas, and we come back to Arizona and struggle to find a job that pays 15.00 an hour. I have seen that it may be a blessing for us to be forced into alternate employment. He has to work in a field related to his major to get accepted to MWU. So we are trying to get our foot in the door at the hospitals around town. So I think the Lord is pushing us to make that move.

Other than our struggles everything else is great. Me and my sister are planning a weight loss program, and hope to be on Oprah at the end of next year. We are really excited about it, and are slowly putting are plan together. So if you have any ideas please feel free to give input. I am losing weight, but strictly through work out which is good, but it takes allot longer so we are now changing our eating habits. That is rough cause i am not very self disciplined.

Happy Holidays To All!!!

He's Home!!!

My dad is home. He is doing really well, and is happy to be home. They said that he is the 4th person this year that has done so well. He is really happy about that. I was going to post some pictures, but i am not sure that anyone really wanted to see my dad inti baited, and his incision. So I will just have my little post.

Ashlynn's favorite Birthday gift

Well yesterday was Ashlynn's third birthday. and even though i spent the day in the hospital with my dad. She did get a gift. We only got her one cause she is having a big party on Saturday, and we took her to Disneyland. So as far as gifts go she wont be getting much.

Update on my dad. The surgery went well, and now he feels like he has been hit by a MAC truck. He is still in allot of pain, and really drugged up on morfin(sp). His surgery was at 8am yesterday, and they extibaited(sp) him at around 4pm, and they got him up to sit in a chair at about 6pm. He did not like any of that at all. They got him up this morning to walk the nurses station, and take a bath. And all he really says is that he is really uncomfortable. He threw up last night to. Which was not a good thing, but it happened. He is hopefully going to leave the CVICU(Cardio Vascular ICU) by Wednesday or Thursday, and hopefully come home before the weekend. He has been a trooper. As far as for me. I hated seeing him inti baited. It was really disturbing for me. I cant handle it, and it did not help that he was waking up for the first time when i went back to see him. So he started to gage, and was acting like he could not breath. I did not like it, but i got to see him after it was taken out, and that made it allot better.

I felt bad that i was not around much for ashlynn's birthday but i hope to make it up to her by having her party this weekend.

Sad News!!!

Today my dad went in for an angiogram (to look at the blockage in his heart). The out come of the procedure it that he has to have triple bi pass. We are really stressed. They wanted to do it today, but he told them that he wanted to go home and think about it and do some research. The doctor told him that he has never had anyone say that before. My dad is stressed and so is all the family. We all knew it would have to happen some time, but now it is actually time. He is making an appointment with the surgeon tomorrow, and then they will schedule the surgery then. So keep him in your prayers!!!

Disneyland

We went to breakfast with Lilo and Stitch and got to see other characters. This was Ashlynn's favorite part of the whole trip. She loved being with all the characters. She would copy everything they did. It was hilarious. She had a blast. As for Coleton he cried about everything. He hated the characters, and hated every ride we went on at Disneyland. Ashlynn got to see tinker bell and she was so excited every time.

Huntington Beach, CA

We left AZ at 3am and got to the beach around 10am. We sat at the beach all day and it was so relaxing the kids played in the sad for hours, and it was just fun. Ashlynn hated the water, and Coleton would have swam with the sharks if he knew how. Which is really funny cause he does not like to swim, but Ashlynn does. Oh well. We had a great trip.

Twilight!!

I finished it. I bought the book Wednesday, and would have finished it Wednesday if i didn't have kids but you know how that is. I was balancing being a single mom, and babysitting, and parties, and all the stuff i had to do. But i got it read. I loved it, and my parents are at target getting me "New Moon" I am so into the books. I thought how stupid is it that people are so into this book about Vampires, but i now see why. I love it. It you have not read it you should. It is great.

I found out today that me and the kids are going to Disneyland the first weekend in November. I can not wait for Ashlynn to see Tinkerbell and go on the peter pan ride. She is so into peter pan right now. We leave Friday, and come home Monday. we are going to the beach which i don't think my kids have ever been (sad I know). We are going to have a great weekend, and we are sad that dad cant come.

Games we played at the party.

The kids doing a pumpkin sack race. Aslynn would not participate in the games but......

....Her dad did. He was being wrapped up like a mummy and then he had to run to a spot to win. He won.

The Afro!!

I think the pictures do all the talking.

The Dragonsaur

We keep on making the mistake of what his costume is. Scott calls it a dinosaur, and the tag says it is a Dragon, and so i call him a dragon. Well Aslynn now calls him a "Dragonsaur". She like to play it safe. Smart girl.

Tinker Bell

Aslynn is Tinker Bell for Halloween. The Wilkins had a family Halloween Party and I thought I would share some pictures from that.

BOO HOO!!!!

I just had to post this udderly pathetic picture of my little Anyston on a really bad day. Am I the only one laughing at this picture? She looks so upset. I'm not really sure what caused this fit, but it was sure funny. Don't you ever have those moments where your kids are falling apart and it takes everything you got to hold back your laughter? I have moments like that. Katie, if this ruins your beautiful site, take it off and put a better one up!
Miss ya!

The pictures to go with the last blog!

Here are my angels
So here is the kids and I new toy. We take it out every morning for our walk. I love it, it was the best investment i have made in a long time. Other than school.

This blog is for Denise 8-)

Okay well apparently I am not posting enough, and that would simply be because not much is going on in our life. Scott leaves at 6:15am every morning, and gets home around 9pm. So it really sucks. That leaves me with the kids all day without a car, and nothing to do. However the kids and i have started walking 2.5 miles everyday, and they love it. Well i guess i do to. I was going to post some pictures, but blogger is having issues. Scott and I got called to nursery, and I am also working as an enrichment board member. Got to love nursery. I am actually in Coleton's class and that works out since he hates nursery.

Scott is getting a 4.0 right now and i am so proud of him. He is working really hard on the good grades, so we have a better chance of getting accepted. Midwestern is a VERY competitive school. So we are stressing just a little. I am trying my very hardest to be the best wife to my husband. Which is not very hard cause he is never home.

The kids are doing great Coleton is talking so much, and Ashlynn is doing okay on her potty issues. I am sure it will just take time to get it completely down. But for the most part she is doing good.

Sorry for not posting sooner, but i promise nothing fun is really going on. We are just chillin in AZ, and it has cooled off to the 80's, and our morning walks are in the 60's which makes it really nice. I promise i will be posting more the next couple of months. We are going to the pumpkin patch. We have a family Halloween party, and my sister is coming in town. So there should be lots of things to post in the next few months. Not to mention Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

New Bunk Beds

The kids got new beds cause i got a screaming deal on them. I was on craigslist one of my favs. someone had posted bunk beds for $300 and so i looked at the add. they were exactly what i was looking for. He was including the mattresses, the linens, the bunky boards, and the bunk beds. I thought to myself i don't think i would use the linens but i will call and inquire. I called the gentleman, and he started to tell me that he had bought them for his grandchildren, and they have only been slept in twice. so i told him that we wanted to come look at them. So my dad and i left on the adventure of checking out these bunk beds. after a long drive out to North Scottsdale (a really nice part of town) we arrive at this guys house. Looking at the bunk beds we decided to purchase them. Saves us on taxes, and having to buy linens. So we gave the gentleman $300 and stated to load up. Comes to find out that the linens are all Pottery Barn Kids linens retailing for $170 a set. That in and of its self is a good deal. Only problem is they are all fire truck linens, as you all know my little girl cant sleep with fire trucks on her bed. So we flipped it inside out. At least until i find something i like. Then I just had to ask the guy where they bought them from just in case in the future i need to replace anything. He reply was Robb and Stucky (a high class furniture store) So being curious i decided to check it out on the Internet. Just want to make sure i got a good deal. The exact bunk beds were $900 on the web site. Then the mattresses are really high quality. The guy that we bought them from had his house on the market for $4.9 million. The house was amazing.
Needless to say i got a screaming deal. I just had to share cause i am so happy. The kids have been sleeping very well together in the same room. So it just has worked out well.
