Some things that are going on!!!!

Well first off I hope everyone is having a wonderful Holiday Season so far. Scott and I are doing okay. The kids are great except they fight all the time. Coleton is very feminine, and we need to get him playing with cars and balls. Which he has! He would just rather play with the combs and brushes, barbies, babies, Ashlynn's play shoes, strollers, etc. every once in a while we catch him playing with boy toys. Especially when his favorite cousin is over. I am sure he and his dad can have some bonding and get that boy thing figured out.

Ashlynn is three we took her in for a "special needs screening" and they see that she needs more extensive screening. She is not communicating the way she should at her age. I was informed that if they find she needs assistant that she would have to go to pre-school from 8-3 Mon-Fri. I am not ready for my little girl to start school yet so hopefully she wont need to much help. She has done allot better in the last little while, she is still having a hard time comprehending some things. But we are working with her some. They said that she is as smart as a 6 year old when it comes to some things she just cant communicate and carry on a conversation. Other than that she just turned three, and loves "Mary Poppins"(that was my favorite movie when i was little).

Scott and I are just trying to make it through the holiday's. Scott got laid off again, and they gave him his job back with a severe pay cut. So we are still on the job hunt. He is looking into being an interpreter at the hospital. It's not a ton of money but better than what he is doing. He is getting down on himself, but he understands its not him its the industry. It just sucks that we have to deal with it. So we are going to have a very humble holiday season. Which is fine. I have cried and been sad about it, but there is nothing i can do about it so we are just going to do what we can. Scott made a comment last night that is has been depressing coming back to Arizona because we made so much money in Vegas, and we come back to Arizona and struggle to find a job that pays 15.00 an hour. I have seen that it may be a blessing for us to be forced into alternate employment. He has to work in a field related to his major to get accepted to MWU. So we are trying to get our foot in the door at the hospitals around town. So I think the Lord is pushing us to make that move.

Other than our struggles everything else is great. Me and my sister are planning a weight loss program, and hope to be on Oprah at the end of next year. We are really excited about it, and are slowly putting are plan together. So if you have any ideas please feel free to give input. I am losing weight, but strictly through work out which is good, but it takes allot longer so we are now changing our eating habits. That is rough cause i am not very self disciplined.

Happy Holidays To All!!!

I am so sad to know that you have been so sad. You guys have been through so much lately. We will keep you in our prayers. I'd love for you to pass on some of your weight loss tips. I'm still carrying some baby weight and hating it! Hang in there, things will work out for you guys I'm sure.

I'm sorry for everything that you guys are going through right now! After I had Grace, I was so sad with everything that was going on. I talked to my bishop, and he told me, "Sometimes Heavenly Father gives us trials just so that he can bless us." It's a thought that kept me going at times. So, someday Scott will be a super-rich pharmacist and you will have a dream house and this will all seem funny. Hang in there. Feel free to pass on your weight loss tips. Sorry I can't give you any. :) I used to worry about Adam loving babies so much. Then I read the book, "William's Doll" and I realized that playing with babies would help him learn to be a good dad someday. It didn't bother me so much after that. You are a great mom and things are going to work out!

(I am sorry this ended up being such a long comment)

Hang in there girlie! There always will be relief when you least expect it. The year before Scott graduated from school we had Emma J, a week later my granddad passed away and the same day I wrecked our only car and Emma was having jaundice issues, then I got really, really sick twice, AND I had surgery and spent a week in the hospital. Trials come and it seems like they are never ending, but in the end it makes you stronger...I look at that year and shake my head because of everything that we went through, but in the midst of that we had the most abundant blessings...not in material ways but in others.

Being students and trying to have a family is NOT an easy thing. I watched my parents do it for years, and Scott and I went through similar experiences...the thing that you have to remember is that it will all be worth it once you are finished. I got an email from my dad earlier this week and here is something I think you can use: "There will be frustrations and setbacks, challenges, and accomplishments. Take pride in those small victories and successes you have, but also take time to stop and smell the roses as they say. Take time to find the joy in the learning process! Learning can be liberating and exhilarating! What we learn and take to heart form that educational journey may be more important in the long run than the degree itself. Learning can stimulate thought and understanding, and initiate and validate your own value, and purpose, and make a thinker out you." Katie, one thing I learned while my Scott was doing his graduate work is that HE was not the only one getting an education, Heavenly Father was helping me to grow and learn just as much as Scott was. I am so grateful for those oppertunities that I was given right alongside of Scott because it made ME stronger AND smarter. And if that isn't enough for you, then here is a quote from Pres. Hinckley "The Lord has mandated that this people get all the education they can. He has been very clear about this...And so I say to you young men, rise up and discipline yourself to take advantage of educational opportunities." You two are doing exactaly as the prophet has directed you to do...that to me is comforting isn't it?

;) Welcome!

(Even though you don't have to and shouldn't dwell in the misery it's nice to just have someone agree with you and not console you...)SO...

That just sucks! I'm sorry!

(PS email me more about Ashlyn--I don't seem to have your email anymore, Brendan had some speech development things and I can at least tell you what I did with him that seemed to help...ssdavisjunebug@yahoo.com)
