First Day of School

Man how time has flown by!!! The kids started school on August 8, 2011. They both are loving school, and there teachers.

Ashlynn loves that some of the kids in her class were in her Kindergarten class. I remember those days of seeing familiar faces every time you switch grades. Her teacher is Mrs. Rodriguez, and tells me all the time what a good girl Ashlynn is. Her Autism, has come so far and you really don't notice she has it, but it has interfered with her learning this year. I went and sat in on her class, cause I had some concerns with her teacher, and with how Ashlynn is doing. I definitely want her IEP(Individualized Education Program) designed for children with special needs, reevaluated. She is having some issues focusing as Autism is a fantasy world for these kids. They always want to live in the fantasy of whatever is on there mind. She has a hard time focusing. But the upside is she has gotten 100% on all her spelling test, and is at grade level for her age. I think I'm going to recommend they challenge her a little more and put her on a higher level, as she is doing so well where she is at. She only needs to practice the words once or twice, and she has it down. She is learning math, and is doing well in this area as well. They are teaching them to tell time on an analog clock, she is doing well in this area as well. She is struggling with punctuations and reading comprehension. Otherwise she is doing well.

Coleton Ironically enough has the same teacher that Ashlynn had in Kindergarten, and absolutely adores her. She is an awesome teacher, this is her second year teaching by herself, and she is doing a great job. She also says Coleton is a role model student and is so helpful. Coleton is doing so well, and is getting fabulous grades. It really makes for a proud mom. He does struggle cause class is to long, and he needs his naps. His first day of school he said "mom I really like school, but is to long". He is in all day kindergarten Mondays 9-1:45, and Tuesday-Friday 9-3:45. Every Monday is early release for all grades. Coleton is one smart boy, and is always watching every detail of every move that anyone makes. He is having a hard time with Scott and I separating and getting divorced, but I am getting them into counseling to help them cope and manage the situation.

So that is Ashlynn and Coleton's life right now. They will be taking a trip up to Oregon with there mom, for there fall break. Ashlynn says she wants to see the Ocean, and play with her cousins and Coleton doesn't know what he wants to do. It has been 5 years since we have made a trip up there, and he was only 6months old, so he does not remember that trip. We are excited to go!!!

Our Aunt Kathy helped us change up our blog a little so Coleton and I can share our lives with you. We would love to hear from you in our comment section. Please leave us a little note when you have the chance. We can't wait to hear from you!

Coleton and I recently headed over to Indio, CA to visit with family. We played with our cousins, splashed in the pools, and even visited some dinosaurs. Coleton was a little scared, but as you can see it didn't last long.

What in the world have we been up to....

My life has picked up and is very very very busy. Full time job, Ashlynn dance 2x a week, Coleton 2 soccer practices a week, and games on Saturday, Scott full time student, Doctor appointments for Ashlynn and me which has been 3x a week, and I have been having to run Ashlynn to and from school four times a week. I think she is back on the bus now. So if you have been wondering why I am slacking on FB and Blog now you know. I finally got some pictures of Ashlynn at dance and Coleton's first soccer practice.

Scott finally got his applications turned in for Pharmacy school, and this is the tell all of where we will end up. This is if he gets accepted for 2010. We are praying that he does. He is a full time student and looking for a part times job. His classes have become much less difficult for the time being. He gets to play stay at home dad right now. It has been nice. But it is time for him to get back to work.

Katie i working full time at nights, and even over time, as work has picked up dramatically. Flu season is hitting earlier than we ever thought it would. It has been crazy. I work in the lab now, and don't get out to draw blood all but maybe once a week if that. And running the kids around to all their various locations, and is doing roughly 2 doctor appointments a week. I am enjoying working the night shift. But my sleep gets really messed up. That is why I am up at 0400 on my day off. I am going to run my first 5k which I am super excited for. I should be at the gym and not blogging but the house is so quiet I am enjoying it.

Ashlynn is doing very well at school she has gotten much more comfortable at school, and is talking well and at the appropriate volume. I am happy for her she is making progress everyday. She still does not have very good sentence structure, but I am hoping that will get fixed over time. Ashlynn is loving her dance class. She is taking an acro class that teaches her the fundamentals of gymnastics. She is also in a tap/ballet combo, and this one is her favorite. She loves her teachers. Right now she is mastering cartwheels. But they are just taking time and courage for her. I am so proud of her, and I am scared to death for her to start kindergarten next year. Ashlynn is now done with seeing the doctor every week, and is now on to a once a month basis. Thank goodness for health insurance.

Coleton is our very humorous three year old. He is always looking out for his sister. He is such a people watcher it gets embarrassing. He still has the funky thing on his eye but it is getting better. He is loving his soccer practice and has gotten down what shin guards are thank goodness. Both kids have been very sick for the last two days. I am hoping they wake up all better cause we have shopping to do today. Coleton is so cute he always gets so proud of his sister when she does something good, or figures something out. He is so sweet, and is only ornery to his dad. He is super sweet to everyone else. I am so grateful to have such good kids.

As we get Coleton all geared up for the soccer season we have gone out and purchased all of his soccer gear. Which include. Cleats, Shin Guards, Soccer socks, Soccer ball, and uniform. Coleton is so excited about playing. I will post pictures when we finally go to practice and start playing. With that being said I have to share a little story.

We got home and Coleton had to try on all his things. He kept on telling Ashlynn that he got new kindergartens..... What in the world is he talking about. So I asked him what kindergartens were, and he points at his shin guards. I said "no buddy those are shine guards". He looks and me and says "oh.... you mean shindegartens?!". I said "no sssssssshhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiinnnnnnnn gggggggaaaaaauuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrddddddddsssssssss!". Coleton replies "oh okay, Ashlynn look at my shindegartens." Oh well I will just deal with it. So now shin guards in our home are now called shindegartens.

As a side note I am planning on getting pictures of Ashlynn at dance and acro, and Coleton playing soccer. So you can look forward to those posts.

What makes my kids happy.

Well for Ashlynn it is animals. This kid loves dogs and cats. He auntie just got a new kitten, and Ashlynn just wants to be over there holding it all the time. The Ortiz's made Ashlynn's day when they brought this super adorable really well behaved puppy to the Labor day party yesterday. Ashlynn had that permanent smile on her face the whole time she was holding this super adorable puppy.

Coleton got one of those punching balloons from his grandma Wilkins about a week ago, and he asked me to let all the air out. So I did, and this is now what he does with it and it couldn't make him happier.

Other than that we are back in school, and I am working full time, and living the busy family life we live.

... Denise and Carly came for less than 24 hours, but we had some fun for that time. We picked them up from the airport, and came back to my place, and visited. Then we got ready, and took Carly and Ashlynn to dinner and then we went to see "Beauty and the Beast the musical". Again another wonderful play. The girls just loved it. The play was a 2 1/2 hour play, and the girls sat through the entire show. They did so good. They loved it so much. Then we went back to my sisters place, put the kids to bed. Had some BFF bonding time, and then went to bed. Then we went to McDonalds and let the kids play, and then took them back to the airport. We are always so sad to see them go we have so much fun with them. Love you guys.

Yes. Yes. Yes. I had the awesome experiance to see "Wicked" I would strongly suggest that anyone that has the chance to go see it. So do it. It was so worth it. I did not pay for my tickets my wonderful sister treated us all. For a birthday gift. It is the best birthday I have recieved in a long time. I got to go with my mom sisters except one, and my nieces. We had so much fun. Here are some pictures of us at dinner. Wonderful show.

Man it has been a while since I have blogged. Sorry! We have been busy. Work has been crazy with the expansion of our hospital. And Scott has been home taking care of the kids. I have adjusted to the night shift very well.

As our summer is coming to an end I thought I would show you more of what we have been doing. Ashlynn goes back to school in 16 days. I think we are done having fun.

Scott took the kids camping. I would have gone but we had just gotten home from our trip to Palm Springs, and I had to work that saturday. I just did not have the motivation or energy to go and play with no shower or toilet. So I got a nice few days with no kids, and peace and quiet. The kids had so much fun with their dad, and his friends. These are the only pictures Scott got of the trip.

Mary, Bryan, Ashlynn and I had to take an unfortunate trip to California for a funeral of a good friend. I was able to get some pictures of our trip. Would have liked to have more, but didn't get them. We are leaving again for California tomorrow. For a stay at a resort I cant wait for the relaxing stay, and most of all to have 6 days off work. Scott will be taking his PCAT exam on Saturday as well. Then life should resume to some normality.

Scott has been doing lots of fun things with the kids now that he is out of school for the summer. The Triffle is what I made for my family BBQ I was in charge of dessert. As we wrap another year of Preschool for Ashlynn. I reflect on how she has been doing, and am really happy with her progress. I do get worried that I only have another year before she goes to school where she is not observed as closely. I have been so lucky that Ashlynn's teacher is so wonderful, and I have been able to build a friendship with her. She is just awesome. Here are some pictures of the social today. We had tons of fun. So the picture of the kids in my bed is what I have to leave everynight when I go to work. Scott tucks them into our bed with a movie, and I have to leave for work. Scott cant handle sleeping alone I guess. They are almost always in my bed when I get home. The picture of Coleton is one I took today as I was leaving for Ice Cream day in Ashlynn's class. I was so worried he was going to fall off and hurt himself, but he never did.

Scott and Coleton went on the father and sons campout. Scott informed me that he hoped I did not mind that he took the camera. I said no not at all. I did not really want to see half of these pictures. Oh men do they ever grow up? Some of them are good. They had a good time. Coleton had a ham sandwhich, and scott said he started complaining that his stomache hurt. Then he said he had to poop. they pulled over and he would not poop on the side of the road. So they got back in the car. Started unloading their stuff, and Coleton started vomiting, and having really bad diahrea. So he asked coleton if he wanted to go home, and coleton said no. Scott says he threw up one more time after that, and he was totally fine. He seems fine today. Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I did. :-p

Happenings!!!

And another semester down. Only two more and three years. Scott Aced another semester again. I am so proud of him. He works so hard. He hates to see me work, but him and I both know that it is totally going to be worth all this time and effort. Now Scott is going to be spending much of his time. Volunteering at Good Samaritan Hospital in the Pharmacy, and studying for a PCAT that is coming up in June (I think the 8th). So remember him, and wish him lots of luck. He is also looking for a part time job to do this summer. To earn a little extra cash. And then on to another semester. He is done with Chemistry. He should be a pro by now. Good job babe I am proud of you.

As for me.....well you know the same old things. Keeping busy. I have been going to Ashlynn's class more now that I have the time. I have also switched my schedule at work, and am enjoying it a ton more. At one point I was ready to quit my job, and throw in the towel. But then I started this new shift, and it is just awesome. The people are awesome. I know what to expect everyday, and I just love it. I am also on a big diet, and wanting to run a 5K in the near future. I am putting together a team for the walk for Autism. So anyone is welcome to join. More info to come on that. But over all I am hanging in there. Live most of my time STRESSED.

Ashlynn is doing well in school. I have had some concerns with her recently, but have spoken with her teacher about them, and she has given me some ideas and things to do with her this summer. And I have to mention that I just love her teacher. I have gained a relationship with her that i feel much more comfortable talking with her about Ashlynn. So we are going to work on some of that. But she is really progressing well. She will be starting at a new dance studio this July. I am sure I will post more pictures of them later on.

Coleton has been going through the evaluation process for his speech. He has been approved for services. So that means he and Ashlynn will be going to school together in August. Coleton is doing really well. He does not have a real serious issue or anything. He is just having a hard time with some of his letters. But the whole thing will be good for him. He has a harder time learning at home then Ashlynn did. So I am hoping preschool will help with that.

So this is the update on the family. I don't really have any pictures to share. I had a cute video of Ashlynn singing songs she learned from school, but I cant figure out how to download them onto the computer. So when i figure it out I will sure do that. We are also going on a few family vacations this summer. We are going camping for 5 days in June up north. Then I am having a sisters time, and we are going to see Wicked. I am so excited. Thats in July. Then we are going to Utah in August hopfully. We will have to see if I get the time off. I have request a total of a month this summer. They might get sick of it. It is truly for my own sanity.

The heat is back again for another summer already. I hate the desert. I hate being hot. So we went swimming. I do love water. This year is very different than last year. We could not get coleton to get in the pool, and this year it is the opposite we cant get coleton out, and Ashlynn is no longer a fish. She is so afraid of the water. Must be the age.

I decided to do something nice for Ashlynn's teacher. Seeing as how she wears craft aprons all the time in class. I thought I would make her some new ones. She has done so much for Ashlynn that I had to show some appreciation. The whole project was pretty cheap, and I could not find a pattern so I just made it up as I went. I love how they turned out. I hope she likes as much as I do. I am taking them to get embroidered with her name on them.

Our next event was at my brothers house. Where we had dinner and another easter egg hunt. It started raining so there were some eggs that got left behind. but we are all to afraid of the rain. Come on we live in the desert. Most of these pictures are compliment of Reece. My sisters almost 5 year old. Then on Sunday we went to church and then went to my other brothers house for easter dinner where the Elders came and shared a message with us. Oh what a busy weekend. But it did not end here either.

What a fun and busy easter we had. It all started saturday with bowling with the Wilkins. Then we went to Scott's sister house for an easter egg hunt. Which I got no pictures of because I was having to much fun playing with babies. Oh and before the easter egg hunt we had brunch. Then we hung out for a while. Then it was off to our next event.

Desert Botanical Gardens

Scott had to go to the Desert Botanical Gardens for school, so he decided to make it a family trip. This is not a place you want to take kids to all day. After we saw the butterfly garden the kids were done. Really all it is is Cactus. Weird I know hence Desert Botanical Gardens. We did not stay to long, but here are pictures of the trip. Oh and the colorful things in the pictures are all made out of glass. It is a special thing that they have up right now. There wer so many other glass things. It was really cool. You are not supposed to touch them, but as you can tell in one of the pictures Ashlynn could not resist. The kids favorite part were the butterflys. There were really cool. Lots of really colorful butterflies.

As of this week the whole family has gotten their hair cut. So we all have fresh new hair. The kids and Scott just got the regular. But I cut off a good portion. My head feels so much lighter. I love it.

So Coleton loves to play with whatever his sister is doing. You know looking up to his big sister thing. But I am afraid that with his 3rd birthday coming up this month he is taking this a little to far. What do you think?

So I have been really frustrated lately with my daughter Ashlynn. As you may or may not know she is autistic. We have been potty training her since she was 18 months old. We have been going through a constant roller coaster of thinking she has graduated, and is a big girl now, and then three weeks later she is back to having an accident everyday. The most frustrating thing is that she will have #2 accidents only, for a few weeks, and then she will only have #1 accidents for a few weeks, and then some weeks she will have both. And so on. I am getting to the point that I don't know what to do. I have taken her to the doctor. He just tells me she will get it. Then I ask other moms they don't know what to tell me cause she is special. I just have run out of energy. I am trying not to compare her, but she is 4 already, and if you do the math on that this has gone on way to long. I am worried they wont take her in kindergarten because she is not potty trained. Oh what to do. If you have any advice, any books I can read anything I can do please let me know.

Coleton on the other hand is totally potty trained so just as I was beginning to think it was me as a mom, I stand corrected, my boy showed me that I can do it. Congrats Coleton. So I know I can do it I just am getting discouraged with her.

Great Buys

So I thought I would post a blog about my great buys. So if you know me well I never pay full price for anything, unless its food(I don't really have a choice with that one). I have gotten alot of comments on how my kids are always dressed in name brand. Now with that being said remember I never pay full price for anything. And I have a wonderful sister who dresses her girls really cute, and Ashlynn gets alot of hand me downs. So why buy cloths at Walmart for the same price you can buy name brand cloths at any other store. For example The pair of shoes above are Puma's for my son. I bought them for a whole $12.00. Now if you can recall how much are shoes at Payless. Ummm.... Around the same price right. If not maybe even more. I should have taken more pictures of some other things I have boughten for the kids, but I didnt. I got another pair of shoes for my son they are some really cute Crocs, yes name brand again. I bought them for $10.00 and we stopped by a croc store in Oregon, and I kid you not the same freakin shoes were $30.00. You just have to be at the right place at the right time, and know where to shop also. So just to clear the air I am a bargin shopper. Dont be afraid to walk into an expensive store you can and will find things you like for great prices.

Sadly enough this is the only picture of our trip to Oregon. We were eating at the Old Spaghetti Factory. One of my old time favorites. We had a ton of fun without the kids for a week. It was nice to go back to my home town, and see some fam.

It is just to nice outside to not go to the park. I had to take these pictures cause my kids will never let me put hats on them, And I think they just look so cute.

So I have posted what has been going on the last little while. This is why I have not posted earlier. We have been busy having fun.

I also got a phone call from Ashlynn's teacher at school, and she said that Ashlynn has exceeded all her goals for the year and that we needed to set some new ones. So I went to the school today to go over this with the teacher. She is doing really well, and the teacher informed me that she has a boyfriend at school. The good thing about it is at least he is LDS, and I know his mom. But still scary, and Ashlynn is not afraid to tell you what her boyfriends name is. Oh boy it starts so young. It is kind of cute.

Coleton is growing up so fast and cracks us up all the time. He has a special talent. He can poop on demand. I know like I said SPECIAL talent. The kid always wants a piece of candy. So he poops like 10 times a day on command.

Scott is back in school. His load is a little lighter than it was last semester, but still taking rough classes.

I am working my little behind off, and trying to take care of appointments. IEP's for Ashlynn, and taking care of the kids so Scott can study for school. So I rarely have time to post anything. I do try. I am finishing up a 4 day weekend that was full of things to do. Scott and I got to go on a date thanks to Scott brother Ben who invited all the kids over for a slumber party. So we went to dinner and a movie. It was nice to get out. We never get that chance anymore.

...Its a day to get ready for Sunday. I put curlers in Ashlynn's hair for church and she is really funny about having things in her hair when she goes to bed. He expressions say it all. I thought is was cute, and was going to get a picture of the after math, and totally never had a moment to stop. We had two baby blessings, a luncheon, and the super bowl party. It was a big day. And then we ended our day with an intense game that we lost.

Coleton and Scott made Strawberry Banana pancakes this morning. Scott found a recipe online and he has been perfecting the recipe more and more every time he makes the pancakes. They are really yummy. Coleton is in charge of pixing and flipping. and Scott does the rest.

The other day Coleton decided to help grandpa wash his car. I came outside to see that Coleton had gotten his chair from the table inside, and was helping my dad. He is hilarious. Notice that he is wearing Ashlynn's shoes. Don't ask me why. I have no idea.

Then while I was taking a nap and Scott was taking a shower apparently Coleton got some scissors. I swore on my life that I would never BUZZ my sons hair, but I faced the day that I had to. It was a sad day.

We went and saw the temple lights. We had a wonderful Christmas. Everyone thinks I am crazy because Christmas day we opened presents, had a yummy breakfest that my mom made, and then cleaned up. And I mean we really cleaned up. I went through all the kids toys, and got rid of a bunch, and then Scott painted the kids room, and rearranged, and organized the kids room. Now I am much more at ease with the way things are now. That was what we did Christmas day. Christmas eve the family got together at my brothers house, and the kids acted out the nativity, and Ashlynn was the angel, and Coleton was a shephard. Those are just few of the thingst that we did. The picture below of the one wear things are a big mess was when we were cleanning and organizing the kids toys. It looks much better. I will have to post pictures of the kids room when I am all done with it. That wont be until Scott and I get home from Oregon

So as I mentioned Scott and I are going to Oregon for 7 days without the kids. Scott's parents and my parents are watching the kids. This is the first time we are going out of town without the kids. I am so excited, but I am going to miss them so much. We leave a week from today, and come home the following Thursday. I will post more pictures of our trip and the finished product of the kids room. Hope everyone had a happy holidays.

So I am a blog hopper and I love reading all different things about people I don't even know. I know that might be a little weird, or maybe everyone does it, but I know I do. With that being said. I am so grateful for the health and strength of my family. I know that we have had our trials, but I would take mine over some of the other blogs I have read about children being close to death. Loved ones dying, and some other sad situations out there. Man I am so thankful for my trials. I know that might be odd, but it could be so much worse. I cant help but to thank my Heavenly Father for all that he has given me, and be thankful for the small trials I have. Some people just never get a break. I always think to myself that I am so blessed because I have so many family members that pray and have faith in the Lord. I have so many nieces and nephews that have silly little request in there prayers, but I truly have faith and know that Heavenly Father answers even the silliest of prayers.

I am thankful for my In laws I have the best In laws ever. I have married into the most wonderful family you could imagine. I love them so much, and am so thankful for the relationship that I have with them.

I am so thankful for my husband who does so much for our family. Working and studying so hard so that he can provide for the family. I am grateful for the faith he has in the gospel, because you have to have strong faith to put up with me. I love you so much. Thanks for all you do. I know its not easy being a stay at home dad, and trying to study, but you do a fantastic job at it.

I am thankful for my family my parents are so wonderful to put up with my family while we go to school. I have the best sisters ever who are my best friends, and I tell everything to. I love love love my sisters. They are the best. I love my brothers for the hard work that they do to keep us safe, and try and get bad guys off the streets.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE my adorable children. They are just the best kids, and anyone that knows them closely know that they are just really good well behaved, and just good kids.

I am so thankful for all my friends that I have. Each one of my fiends gives me something that I will always take with me for the rest of my life, and for that I am so grateful for.

White Tanks

We went and hiked the White Tanks they are the mountains that are about 10 miles from our house. When you hike up the trail, and at the end of the trail there is a waterfall, but I did not get a picture of the waterfall. I did not hop the rocks, but Scott and the kids did. I had to work on Thanksgiving, but it was okay I got to dinner just as everyone had just finished dishing up their plates. I had a good Thanksgiving. My sisters from Vegas came. Then we went to Scott's family Thanksgiving just as everyone was cleaning up. I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I have to much to be thankful for, I will save that for a different post. So I guess I did not take any pictures of Coleton on Thanksgiving. I did not get many pictures, but here is what I do have.

So on Wednesday I was able to go to Ashlynn's class and have stone soup, and the kids also made their own butter. They had a little program, and we had soup, bread, and some homemade pumpkin pudding. Everything was really good but the pumpkin pudding. Ashlynn was able to show me all around her class room, and she showed me all her friends. She is doing so well. She love school. And everything with the bus is taken care of. They filed and incident report, and I spoke to her bus drivers, and the little girl that did this to Ashlynn is not allowed to sit with any other kids, and for the time being I am content with that.

Dilema

So today was a normal day. I sent Ashlynn off on the bus to go to school, and carried on with my day. Then it was time for her to come home, and the bus pulls up about the same time as it usually does, and I walked up to the bus to get her off the bus. Normally Ashlynn is very spunky and skips off the bus and goes into the house and gets a drink, and heads up stairs and starts playing. Well today was different....The doors to the bus opened and she looked like she had been crying for a while. Her eyes were all swollen, and she was very upset. The bus assistant begins to tell me that she did not know what was wrong with her, and that she just all of a sudden started crying. Then she says I dont know if the little girl next to her did something to her or not. So I just said thats fine she will be okay. I did not want to get defensive until I did my own investigating. If you know me at all I am a very good investigator. I think I might be in the wrong profession. Anyway...So Ashlynn came in and was still crying. So I told her so go potty and then I wanted to see if she had any evidence of an issue to cry. Ashlynn does not just get upset like this. So she came over to me, and this is what I saw......

....HMMMMMMMMM weird kind of looks like a kid MAULED my child, and you couldnt see it. WEIRD.....Right!!!!! So needless to say I am a little upset that the bus assistant sat on the bus with my child, and he only job is to watch the kids. Mind you she is on a bus with a bunch of challenged kids with behavior issues and such. I am so irritated, but I dont know what to do about it. If you have any suggestions let me know??? I mean if you look close enough the kid bit her two times and she has a scratch on her face, and a scratch under her eye. Was the assistant sleeping or what???? Please give me some advice. I need it.

Feeding the ducks

So today we went and fed the ducks, and went to the library and went out for dinner. I have to find things to do with the kids while Scott is at school. Otherwise I get really tired, and want to sleep. So this is the second time we have gone and fed the ducks this week. The kids love it, but I dont think that Coleton will be feeding the ducks anymore, He had a duck take bread out of his fingers twice, and he did not like it. They were really agressive. The other cool thing was that we would throw food to the ducks in the water and these big fish would beat the ducks to the bread, I got some video of it so I will post that also.

Coleton kept on telling us while we were setting up the dollhouse that he was going to break it. Well he didn't break it he just drew on the bed and piano.

All in all we had a fun day with Ashlynn. I had to work today so we celebrated yesterday. He dad took cupcakes into her classroom today. She loves birthdays.

First I went and took the kids to get there flu shots. The doctor is checking Coleton out to see if he might be diabetic. I know another thing for us to over come. I still would take my trials over alot of other ones I could face. Then we came home and put Ashlynn on the bus to go to school. then we went to lunch at Johnny Rockets, walked around Westgate, and then we went to Cabela's. What a fun day. We love having people in town and showing them around.

Suprise 70th Birthday Party

My dad had a suprise 70th birthday party and all of his kids were there except my Oldest brother. We had so much fun. My wonderful sister Mary got everyone together for the party and she also funded the entire party, and my dad had no idea that it was coming. My poor mom could not sleep the night before knowing that all her kids were in town and she was not there visiting with us. But she managed to make it. My sister is throwing my dad a surprise 70th birthday party on Saturday, and as part of his gift she wants all of his kids to write him a letter, and family pictures. So with the very little time I had. I took the kids into the backyard and took some pictures of them. I thought they turned out pretty cute. Now I just need to know which on I should us. Individual ones or one of them together. So I want you to vote for me. My sister really wants Scott and I to be in them, but I don't think we are going to have time to do that before the party. The Fair

Coleton loves to ride in grandpa's new truck. So my dad decided that he and my mom would take him for a ride to the fair while Ashlynn and I were are her intake. Then Ashlynn went to school, and I got a nice afternoon to myself. I slept and went to lunch with my sister. Here are all the pictures from the fair. When I was younger and the Rose Festival would come to Portland my dad would always take us. He loves fairs and stuff like that. I am glad that my kids can enjoy this time with the grandparents.

It has been over a week since I updated so I thought it was time. My mom has my camera right now so I cant even download any pictures. So today Ashlynn and I had a date to go to central Phoenix to "The department of economic security division of developmental disabilities". Ashlynn has been approved for any types of therapies that she might need through her life. Music is on we are going to start. We are going to have a provider come into the home and help Ashlynn better learn how to get dressed, potty train, and they will also take her to play groups and such to help her with her socializing. I am so grateful for all the wonderful things they have to help my little girl. So it is a big thing that we have been approved for all that. We also had to have the approval to be able to write it off on our taxes. So now 4 days a week she will be going to school, and 2 days a week she will be doing therapy.

I got a job at the same hospital that I work at in the lab. I start that job November 3, and it was a big pay raise for me. So that is wonderful. I love being a Phlebotomist. I am all done with school, and am now studying to take the National certification. So hopefully I will be done with all that in a little while.

Scott is right in the middle of a challenging semester for him. He is maintaining good grades, and loves what he is learning. He is coming up to the deadline for his application to be submitted into Pacific University in Oregon. So he is trying to get everything done. So maybe this time next year we will be in the Pharmacy program. I am praying everyday that the economy maintains itself so we can continue getting financial aid to make it through the program. After that I had no stresses about his choice of career.

Coleton is hilarious he is always making everyone laugh. He is in every ones business. He is nosey, and I find it very funny. I have him very concerned right now. I told him that he needed to stop sucking his thumb, because one of his front teeth are sticking out more that the other. You cant really tell, but me being mom I can tell. So every time he thinks about sticking his thumb in his mouth he says that his teeth are nasty.

So this is our life in a nut shell. With my new job starting up I am hoping to be a more frequent blogger.

An update

So a little update on the family. Scott, Ashlynn, and I are both in school right now, and are doing well. I am working full time at the hospital still. I love and hate it. I love the people, and hate the exhausting work. It will end October 7. I cant wait. Ashlynn has gotten back in the routine of school, and just loves her bus drivers, and her teacher, and all her friends. She is making incredible progress. She is still behind, but she is putting sentence's together in context. She is such a sweet girl. Coleton is doing really well on potty training. He wont have any accidents, unless he has to poop. He had a big moment while my sister was watching him and that was he pooped in the potty. He has not done it since.

I have recently been kind of diagnosed with Crohns Disease. What I mean by kind of is that my lab work came back with very minimal amount of Crohns. The doctor has put me on therapy medicine, and he wants me to check back with him in a month. I am just glad they are finally figuring out what is wrong with me. I do however do have ulcers, and Colitis. None of which is fun at all.

Scott is not finding being a stay at home dad all that he thought it would be cracked up to be. I find it kind of funny. He is however staying up on his school work which is the most important thing. He is getting everything together to apply for all the schools he has to apply for. I think we have found 4 or 5 to apply for this fall.

We are a busy little family, but we are doing well none the less. To explain the picture about. Lets just say Scott is a stay at home dad.

Labor Day Weekend.

We spent our labor day weekend up North at the Wilkins family Reunion. We had alot of fun and were sad to leave the beautiful weather. We went up Saturday and came home Monday. We came home and showered and went to my brothers house for a BBQ,and some card games. Ashlynn got stung by a Scorpion, and is still sore from that, but she is doing well. We had such a fun weekend. We don't get to spend much time together as a family and it was nice to do that. Now we are back to the same old stuff

Ashlynn's Dance

Ashlynn's dance class is preparing for a dance recital for december, and this a glimpse into what there dance will be. It is so cute when she does it with her class. She is really good, and keeps up well with the teacher. She gets distracted really easy so if the kids are acting up she is just watching them. She does not participate with them. This has been really good therapy for her. The best part of it is that she loves it.

Scott and the kids got into a pillow fight, and I think the kids won. They had so much fun doing it. I wanted to have no part in it.

Well things have been busy as usual. I am still working, and getting ready for the fall semester to start. Scott just wrapped up another class, and now he is getting ready for the fall. We went to a D-Backs game tonight, and they lost. As we were in the game they told us that there was a severe thunderstorm warning. And what do you know the game lets out and it is raining, and wet. It was fun to get out and do that. Thanks to Patrick and Kelli. Other than that not much is going on.

Breaking Dawn

I did it I stayed up until midnight to get the book. i have started reading, but I have not gotten very far. I am so excited to finish. Me and my sister were laughing so hard at how people were acting at the book store. Lets just say we had a count down, and everyone screamed and yelled. It was like a new year celebration. I definitely did not belong there. I just wanted my book. I got it and we left the store at 12:10, and now I will be buried in the book til I am done.

... Well my sweet little Innocent children witnessed a baby bunny have convulsions, and die today. Here is the story. So we have had a rabbit in the back yard for quite some time now. It lives behind the shed. The kids get really excited whenever it come out, and are so thrilled. Well today a baby bunny came out. The kids got all excited, and went out side to try and catch it. Knowing that a three year old couldn't possibly catch a bunny Scott let Ashlynn out to go catch it. As Ashlynn got closer and closer to the rabbit it was not running off. Scott was worried that she might actually catch it. So he hurries out there with her, and the rabbit was not moving cause it was dying. So Scott let my daughter stand there and watch it die. He tells her that it is sleeping, and then he puts it into a garbage bag, now how much more confused could my little girl be. Who falls asleep like that.....Right?

Well of course we have been crazy busy, and are looking for a good vacation before things get really crazy this fall. I am still loving work, I am learning so much, and I hate leaving my kids behind everyday. Scott is getting prepared for the application process for school. Hopefully we get in next fall, but everyone will know when we do I will be so excited. It will mean we are almost half way there. I am so stressed lately, and cant wait for this rollercoaster of stress to be gone. I am getting so baby hungry, and want a baby so bad. And it does not help to half of Scott's family pregnant. I wish we could have another baby right now. Our time will come. I just cant believe that Coleton will be 3 and I am not even pregnant. It is weird. Anyway enough about that. Ashlynn is starting school up again for the fall on August 12, and she is doing so well. She is really starting to talk alot. It is weird. She is still awkward with her sentances, but she is trying, and I just know this school year she will do amazingly well. She is just so sweet, and a really good girl. She and Coleton are best friends. They hardly ever fight, and I could ask for better kids. Coleton is growing so fast, he is talking so much, and it amazes Scott and I at how he just asks for whatever it is that he wants. Ashlynn still has yet to do that. It seems as though they are at the same stage right now. It is really like having twins. Of course I dont know what it is like to have twins, but I am sure it is like this.

I have to be so thankful for my parents and all the help that they have given my family, and they hardly complain at all. I couldnt ask for better parents they have been amazing. They just love my kids unconditionally. They are so good to my kids. I can go to work and not have to worry about how they are being treated, I just love that. Not alot of people are that fortunate. It makes working a little easier. I dont know what we are going to do if we dont have a choice of staying here or moving to Oregon. We have perfect situations in either one of those states. But we are applying for 11 schools all over the west coast, Utah, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, New Mexico, Nevada, and I think that is it. So hopefully we will get what we want. But we can just pray, and I know the Lord will take good care of us. So as you can tell its just the same old stuff. I have not gotten my camera out in a while, but I will try to this weekend on my weekend off.

This is our fourth of July sunset. This is one of the things that I love about AZ, but this is one of the FEW.

We had a wonderful fourth of July. I had to work, but even that was great cause we were so slow, and I got paid double time because it was a holiday. And I got off at 3:30, and our family party started at 4:00pm So that worked out great. Then we ate and decided to play water balloon volleyball, and we all got wet, and playing in the stormy weather. It was not raining on us. It just smelled like rain, and was so windy. I loved it. Then we played a game of volleyball. Then we played a game of River, and the fireworks started around 9:30 because of the storm. We were able to watch the fireworks from my brothers balcony. So we did not have to deal with the crowds. It was so fun. We got home around 11:30, and went to bed.

Today is my anniversary, and we have been married 5 awesome years. WOW I cant believe it has been that long. I am so happy with the way things have gone. And that Scott still puts up with me. He is an awesome husband, and I couldn't be more grateful for him.

Hair do #1

So my sister-in-law. Had a blog that was showing her daughters hair, and she had gotten the idea off of another blog. Well after talking to a few people. I have decided that I would start sharing some ideas with everyone also. So here is hair do #1 I really only do really cute hair dos on sundays so I will probably only share one a week. But if I have the time and energy to do more I will share those also.

I took the kids to get there pictures done last night. This is the first time I have ever gotten their pictures done together professionally. Coleton as you can tell was being a booger, and Ashlynn did great. She was a real trooper. We were able to get some really good pictures of the kids. I hope you enjoy the pictures. Today I had an awesome day at work. I got to assist a doctor in intabating a patient, I had a morgue call, and I got to assist a doctor in placing a femeral line. It was so much fun. I could be a trama nurse, but I dont think I could be a regular sit down and had out meds all day. Unfortunatly I am not going to do either. I am just going to stick to my phlebotmy. Actually I am really thinking about becoming and EMT so I can be an ER Tech. Oh all the things I would like to do. We will see. What I will end up doing.

Ashlynn is being taught how to aerobesc(I have not idea how to spell that work) She is being helped by the little ballet girl helpers.

This is Ashlynn tapping. This was her favorite part of the whole class. They do half ballet and half tap. But they are learning a ballet dance for there recital so they only did about 15 minutes of tap. Overall she loved it. She participated most of the time all by herself, and she was really excited to go. She did well overall. She caught on to the dance they are learning very well, and was following directions better then most of the other girls.

My mom and dad have been watching the kids while Scott and I are at work. They had a play pool from last summer, but the heat has melted it so bad that we had to go get a new one. This is what I found, and they love it. This video is hilarious cause she does not like going under the water, and so it was a big surprise for her. Today is my day off, and so the kids and I are just having fun together. I think I will be taking them to burger king, and let them play at the play place, and we have to go find some tap shoes and ballet shoes for Ashlynn, and get her signed up for class next week. I am so excited to get her into dance. I hope she will like it.

Well Scott was with the kids yesterday while I was at work, and Ashlynn came to him and said "Dad, what happened to you toe?". So Scott looked at her toe and found that the toe nail had fallen off. Now hopefully she will start to heal better. She bumped it yesterday and it started bleeding like crazy. Now she is happy that it has fallen off. As for her blister that takes over half of her foot. That is popped, and just waiting for the skin to fall off. Needless to say she wont be modeling feet anytime soon.

Well the truth is we don't really know what happened to her toe. She was outside playing with her cousins and she just started to scream. So I went and got her, and her toe nail had started to turd black, and it was bleeding. So I went and doctored it up. We thought it might be broken the way she was acting over the whole thing. So I thought I would let her sleep on it and see how she was the next morning. That night she woke up screaming again, and I thought for sure it was broken. She went back to sleep and my mom was here with them the next day, and I called from work to see how she was doing, and my mom said she was doing fine. She was still limping, but was not crying or anything. I got off work and my mom picked me up, and she said that she thought I should have it looked at. We went to urgent care. They took x-rays and said that she did not break it, but that having the blood trapped under the toe nail like that make it very painful. So I have to put cold compresses on it every 3-5 hours, and he gave her and anti inflammatory, and some pain medicine. She is doing better it started to bleed tonight. So I was a mean mom and tried to get alot of the blood out. I did get some out, and she is all bandaged up, and playing again. So that is our excitement for the week.

First five day work week in 5 years

I just got home from my first five day work week in five years. I am so tired. In case anyone is wondering I did finally get a morgue call. Not as bad as I thought, just really heavy. I could not believe it. I just had the legs and had a hard time with that. But no suprises. Other than a baby in the morgue freezer. That was sad. I wanted to cry for those parents. I have had some really good learning experiances. And I love working in the hospital. It is so much fun.

Movie Review

We had a movie theater open down the street from us, and they are offering free movies first come first serve basis. We decided to take the kids to "Horton hears a Who" It was a really cute movie. If you have not already seen it I would recommend seeing it. Ashlynn loved it, but Coleton could not keep still. I guess that is just part of being a two year old. He did do pretty good though. Anyway it was a cute movie.

My work week!

Oh my! I have no idea how I am going to do this. My job requires me to walk 14-17 miles a shift. And my body is not used to that. So I am trying to get used to it. I like my job alot. It is fun, and I had a very exciting day today. We had a patient code in the hallway on our way back from endo to CCU. So scary. We just pretty much stepped out of the way and let the CC Team take charge and luckily the guy did live. We didn't get a call to take any patients to the morgue so I still have yet to visit the morgue. So that was a very exciting day. The kids have been chillin with Grandma and Grandpa, and have been really good for my parents. They have been able to go play in the pool so that has been nice for my mom and dad. It has been so hot here. We got 111 degrees. Its only May what the heck. Oh it was hot. But it is cooling off for the weekend, but I have to go back to work and don't really get to enjoy the weekend. But that's okay I get paid big bucks on memorial day. So that is nice. Anyway that pretty much wraps up my first week of work. It been exciting.

Tempe Splash Pad

Scott's friend Chris graduated from college, and they invited us out to celebrate, and we went to Tempe Splash pad, and had dinner, and the kids had a blast. It was the coolest park ever. Then we went to the District and did some walking around and then we listened to a band play for a little while, and then we went home.

Today Ashlynn had a water day at school, and the parents were invited to come. Although not many people came we did go. We had snow cones and played with bubbles, and water. Coleton did not want to leave. I am sitting home all by myself right now with no kids. Ashlynn is still at school, and Coleton is at his cousins James house. So I am blogging.

...Oh I dont know seems like everything.

It all started with me getting a job offer, and on the same day I was called to interview with the same company for a different position. I was torn. I went to the interview to realize it was not a job that I wanted so that made my decision a little easier. I have been helping my sister move since wednesday, and I feel like I did practically everything. But she is taking me to American Idol on tour for my thank you, and I am so excited. I have never been to a concert. We finished moving her yesterday. It has been alot of work let me tell you. Thursday night I went to enrichment night, and learned all about photography, and this lady was amazing. You can check out her website at www.svbphoto.com. So the above picture is me practicing with my camera. I really want to become good at taking pictures. And she gave me so many helpful hints. She costs $200.00 for her to come and take your pictures, and she will spend as much time on you as you want, and take as many pictures as you want, She does alot of candid, and I love those pictures the most.

Last night we went to my nephews semi final state championship game, and they lost due to bad blue calls. It was terrible. The score board shows my nephews name on it, and the only point on the board was thanks to my nephew. He hit a line drive right down the left feild foul like, and then it got lost. It was a great hit. So that was cool, it was a really good game.
So tonight I am going out with my sister and her friend to go to Tiffany & Co. to watch her and her friend spend there money on jewlery, and then we are going to dinner, and then to see "babies moma" I have been dying to see this movie. It looks really funny. Scott has finished off the semester with good grades, and I have finished of the semester with good grades. So we are doing good. Scott has been talking to the hiring manager fo Bosewill Hospital Pharmacy, and she is trying to get him hired, but she has to get approval from her director, because he is not certified to be Pharm Tech, and does not want to waist 9 months of trying to get certified when he can gain the same education by working in the pharmacy. So that is were we are at right now. The kids are great. Ashlynn is finished with school on the 16th and I have no idea what i am going to do with her after that. She will start back up in august. Coleton is not as excited about potty training, but I am trying really hard to stay on top of it, so that I dont loose my oppurtunity to potty train him.

I Got the Job!!

So I got the job at the hospital, and though its not exactly what I wanted we will make due with it. Now Scott can give his two week notice, and look for a Pharm Tech job. I am really excited to work in a hospital, and even more excited that I work days, so taking dead people to the morgue wont be as bad as taking them in the middle of the night. But here is the problem I have. I have a job interview with the same company just a different location that is closer but has a weird schedule. So I am going to that tomorrow to see what the deal is with that. I think I am going to stick with the one I have already been offered, but I just figured I will go to this interview just to see what they have to offer. Anyway I start in like a week or two. I am so excited.
